Rob and I went for a walk near the village of Durisdeer in Dumfries & Galloway on Thursday 1 March 2012. We stopped in the village and had a look around the graveyard and church.
We headed up the Well Path, through the hills, passing a Roman Fortlet.
There were lots of red grouse calling out to each other and we saw males and females. I think the males were establishing their territories and attracting females.
Rob made the last collage from his photos.
We stopped at Thornhill on the way home for lunch at Thomas Tosh to round off a very pleasant day.

Your walks are always so beautiful! I'm afraid to ask...where is Henry? Big hugs!
Hi Cait! Henry managed a walk round the church yard (you can just see him in one of the photos in the collage - click to enlarge it - in the top quarter of the left hand side). He is extremely ancient now - 16 1/2 years old and can only manage a short walk. He has a nice sleep on his duvet in the car while we do the longer walks. ;o)
