Walk at Temple Sowerby, Cumbria

A beautiful day for an outing, so Rob, Brock and I headed off for a new walk for us, at Temple Sowerby in Cumbria. It is about 3 - 3.5 miles long, alongside a river to begin with, through fields and on quiet country roads.

Lunch afterwards at the UpFront Gallery, Unthank. Perfect day out!

Spring Plum Blossom and a Frog

The wild plum trees in our garden are just coming into blossom - a welcome sign of Spring.

Our morning walk was at Bessie's Hill Fort in Eskdalemuir. We found a puddle with three lots of frogspawn in it and later in the walk came across this little fellow.

Afterwards, we had coffee at Samye Ling and the two ponds there had dozens of froggy heads peeping out of the water, croaking at each other. Our own little pond has not got any spawn yet, but fingers crossed!

Seasonal Colour Inspiration

The berries and rose hips are just starting to ripen; plants are going to seed; and hazy sunshine turns the mudflats and sea to shades of taupe and grey.

Cherry Blossom

Here is a collage of photos taken of our flowering cherry tree. The tree looks like quite an old crock - heavily pollarded before we moved in 13 years ago - but still produces this beautiful display of blossom every year.
